I had the opportunity to speak at my high school Booker T Washington in Tulsa Ok to young men from Carver Middle School, McLain High School, and Booker T Washington who are all part of Men Of Power started by Dr Anthony Marshall. Fantastic discussion. Every student received a book courtesy of Sigma Pi Phi who purchased We Matter “Athletes And Activism” books for all of the students. We talked about the obstacles they are sure to face being a Black Man in this society and how they have to be dedicated and have a plan to be successful despite all of the traps and pitfalls that have been set for them. It was a wonderful discussion. I love speaking to young people and wish they had a Men Of Power when I went to Booker T. Our young men need this.
